Youths will work the community garden together and care for the crops, participate in fun educational classes on nutrition, agriculture, and team building!
Harvest Festival
At the end of the season, we will host a community led festival to harvest the crops, show off the work of the participants, and deliver the food to homeless shelters/ soup kitchens!
About "GCC Gardens" - Educational Youth Community Garden
This initiative will equip the students and at risk youth with education about nutrition and agriculture, leadership skills, and community service. While working the community garden, they will have the opportunity to lead, gain useful knowledge for future endeavors, and give back to those in need! If applicable, we will provide volunteer credits for job or college applications.
We will host a seasonal harvest festival where the students can show their loved ones around the garden as well as any additional art or creative projects completed with pride. During these harvest festivals, the students and other volunteers will help to harvest the produce to then be given to local shelters.
