Kei Suen - Keibydesign

From a young age, Kei was captivated by the beauty of handwriting. She admired the way some people crafted clean, precise lines while others wrote in elegant cursive that carried years of practice. Inspired, she set out to refine her own handwriting—though her patience didn’t always match her ambition, especially when scribbling notes in class. What began as childhood fascination has since grown into a lifelong passion.

Kei began practicing calligraphy in 2016, and by 2018 she launched S.F. Letter Designs. Through commissioned projects—personalized signs, gifts, and event details—she had the privilege of creating meaningful art while connecting with wonderful clients and gaining invaluable experience. Her guiding principle was always to “let the words speak for themselves,” blending beauty and meaning into every piece.

As her creativity evolved, Kei expanded into abstract fine line art, often described as “Zen Art” or “Zentangles,” which she affectionately calls Organized Chaos. What started as a pastime soon revealed itself as something more: her love for calligraphy wasn’t just about words, but about transforming lines into art.

Today, she offers calligraphy/engravings for private events and designs unique abstract fine line art prints that bring beauty and elegance to any space. Whether through meaningful words or intricate designs, Kei’s mission is to infuse artistry, intention, and beauty into everything she creates.

To get to know Kei, we had a few questions. First being "What does Generosity mean to you?"

Kei: "When I think about what generosity means, by definition, it's the ability to give, in the form of time/resources, usually in abundance."

Our next question was "What was a moment of Generosity that has greatly impacted you?" and her answer left us warm and hungry haha.

Kei: "When I think about the act of generosity, I believe it to be a form of love and connection with our community. Something as simple as cooking dinner for some friends, or calling up a friend that you haven't spoken to in a while, are all forms of generosity.

I've been fortunate in my life to have many people show generosity. Food is a big one in my community. Whenever someone cooks for me, or treats me out to eat something amazing, I'm always incredibly grateful. My grandma was always very generous when it came to cooking for her grandchildren. Whether it was just me visiting or 5 of us visiting, there'd always be 10 dishes on the table to make sure we all had a full belly."
